Week of 10/27/2025

 

On 10/29/2025 at 9:27 pm Officers with the Fort Madison Police Department responded to 1231 35th Street in reference to an assault. Officer contacted the reporting party and a juvenile victim. After an investigation, the juvenile that was detained was charged and released to a legal guardian.


On 10/29/2025, Officers responded to several reports of vehicle burglaries and vandalisms. Some vehicles were gone through, but nothing taken, some had items stolen out of them, and some were damaged. Evidence found at the scenes indicated these crimes were committed by the same person/group of people.


On 10/29/2025 at 12:10pm FMPD officers responded to 3033 Avenue P for a disturbance between a mother and daughter. The juvenile female was detained and released to her older sibling with charges.


On 10/29/2025 at 1:05pm FMPD, FMFD, and LCAS responded to the 5300 block of Avenue O for a two-vehicle accident. A car had rear-ended a truck and trailer and then drove off into a field. The driver of the car, Warren Lavalle, was located. He will be charged with OWI 2nd offense, Driving While Suspended, Failure to have Insurance, and Failure to Maintain Control.


On 10/28/2025 at 3:56am, Officers with the Fort Madison Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Janessa Taft. Taft was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana 1st offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Taft was held at the Lee County Correctional Facility.  


On 10/27/2025 at 10:27pm officers with the Fort Madison Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Darren Taeger of Fort Madison. Taeger was arrested

for Operating While Intoxicated 1st offense and was held at the Lee County Correctional Facility.
