Police Department
Feedback
The Officers of the Fort Madison Police Department strive to provide the community with professionalism and courtesy. Even so, with an annual call load of over 12,00 calls for service, we recognize the potential for errors, omissions, and neglect. We must also consider the human element of our staff, and management's responsibility to be accountable to the public that we serve. Although sustainable complaints of misconduct are rare, we do acknowledge issues of job performance as a reality we must monitor and provide for corrective action.
We encourage the public to provide an honest and constructive assessment of our performance, good or bad. Typically, most concerns are handled by the employee's immediate supervisor. If a serious violation of policy or law is alleged, the chief of police will have the matter investigated.
